APPLY FOR MALAYSIA STUDENT VISA APPLICATION

Boasting an international student population of 11th in the world, Malaysia is an important destination for any student looking for opportunities to study abroad. With 200,000 international students studying in Malaysia by 2020, foreigners have seen changes in visa requirements here. Although there are more regulations but does not mean that the visa is not possible. In fact, most of this process is primarily handled directly by your school.

STUDENT PASS AND STUDENT VISA   All international students need a Student Pass and a valid Student Visa to study here. Under Malaysian law, only public or private schools under the authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Home Affairs can receive international students.   To obtain a student visa you will need to apply for a Student Pass. Once you receive a temporary Student Pass, you will be granted a Student Visa to enter Malaysia. When you arrive in Malaysia, you will receive a full, official Student Pass. You will need both a Student Pass and a Student Visa to study here.   BEFORE THE ROAD   You will be issued a student visa upon entry into Malaysia if you have a Student Pass qualification.   When you enter a university in Malaysia, the school will apply for a Student Pass for you. You will be required to submit some required records and pay a certain amount of fees for the school to register for you. If your application is approved, the Malaysian Immigration Department will send a student pass certificate to the school. The school will send the original certificate to you in Vietnam, accompanied by a certified copy of the certificate of qualification required for study (Personal Bond). These will be a temporary student pass that will help you to come to Malaysia as a student.   Often the records will be processed and will be available within 1-2 weeks. Students should submit relevant paperwork to the school as soon as possible, because without them you will not be allowed entry to Malaysia. When you book your flight to Malaysia, you must send all your flight details to the school including your destination, flight number, arrival date and time.   ENTRY   You must have a Student Pass certificate on hand when arriving in Malaysia.   When you land at the airport in Malaysia, the representative of the university will pick you up at the gate. You will then be issued a Special Pass to enter Malaysia. Note that this tag is only valid for 2 weeks. For those 2 weeks, you need to go to the Immigration Department to get the official Student Pass. You will also be issued a visa upon entry into Malaysia. This visa is valid for at least 6 months.    WHEN TO STAY   The University will submit your passport to the Immigration Department within two weeks of your arrival to apply for an official Student Pass. After about 6-8 weeks, you will receive your Passport Student Pass. You will have to renew Student Passs every year.   WHAT TYPES OF PAPER IS NEEDED TO SUPPLY?   To apply for a Student Pass, you need to provide the university with the following:   • Letter of acceptance from the university • Student Pass application form is complete • Two copies of your personal information page on your passport • Three passport photos • Proof of purchase of Malaysian health insurance • Proof of financial support for your study in Malaysia • A written confirmation of eligibility for entry into a private Bond document.   By law, your university must sign a Personal Bond confirmation if they agree to enroll you, but you will have to pay a fee to receive this. Universities will not send your resume until you have paid the full cost.   TYPES OF FEES   The Personal Bond Fee varies from RM 300 - RM 1500 (about 2 - 10 million) depending on the student's nationality. You will also need to pay the application fee for the school. For example, the University of Nottingham Malaysia collects RM 500 (about 3.3 million) before they send your resume and RM 500 more on the day you register for the course.   You may be required to pay extra fees for preparing your Student Pass application, such as medical examination and health insurance. This fee varies depending on your nationality. You can refer to the estimated cost of these amounts here.   International students will be required to purchase one of three health insurance packages to complete the Student Pass application. The price of insurance varies from RM 500 - RM 850 (about 3.3 - 5.6 million)   Annual student pass fee is RYM 60 (about 400 thousand VND) while visa fee is from RYM 15 - RYM 90 (about 100 - 600 thousand VND). All fees on pCustoms are paid directly to the Malaysian Immigration Department.

SHOPPING COOKING
Your Student Pass is valid for one year and you may not be granted a new one if you do not attend the required number of classes or fail to prove your registration for the next semester. You will have to renew your Student Pass for at least a month and a half before expiration. You can do this through your university. Each school will have a different Student Pass renewal process, you can go to the school website to find out more. Monash Malaysia, for example, requires you to submit certain documents as well as a RM 1000 (approximately 6-7 million) fee to renew your Student Pass. This amount includes health insurance premiums.
